A public holiday has been declared on December 5 due to by-elections for PP-139 in the Sheikhupura district of Punjab.
Punjab Government has declared a public holiday on December 5th due to the upcoming by-elections. The by-election will take place in the Punjab Assembly constituency of PP-139 Ferozewala Sheikhupura. This decision aims to facilitate the voting process for the residents.
Also The Deputy Commissioner’s Office issued the notification, confirming that all public institutions will remain closed to facilitate the voting process.
Shahid Imran Marth, the Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura, has been named the District Returning Officer by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The seat of Punjab Assembly PP-139 fell vacant after the death of Rana Afzal Hussain, who had earlier been elected as a member of the Punjab Assembly in the by-election after Rana Tanveer vacated the seat.
The ECP has appointed Shahid Imran Marth, Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura, as the Returning Officer. Usman Jalees, Additional Deputy Commissioner , will serve as the RO. Additionally, Muhammad Adeel Khan, Assistant Commissioner of Ferozewala, and Rana Bakhtiar Ahmad, Deputy District Education Officer, will act as a Assistant RO.
