All educational institutions in Punjab province and the Islamabad Capital Territory will suspend operations on Monday, December 16, following official notifications citing security concerns. The directive affects both public and private schools throughout the regions.
“In view of the prevailing situation in the province Punjab, Government has decided that all public and private schools in Punjab will remain closed on Monday, 16, December 2024”.
It additon: “However, all offices will remain open and perform their functions as usual.”
In response to this horrific event, the government introduced the National Action Plan (NAP) to combat terrorism.
In a separate announcement, the government of Sindh has declared December 25 and 26 as public holidays. On december 25 will be observed as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday, while December 26 will be a holiday for Christian employees to celebrate their Christmas event. All government offices will remain closed on these days.
