Mashal Yousafzai PTI, Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was dismissed / fired from her position on Friday 29 Nov, hours after she made an interview disclosing the D-Chowk protest controversy.
Mashal was an assistant to the KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for Zakat, Ushr, Social Welfare, and Women Empowerment.
Mashal is the former spokesperson for the former First Lady Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) founder Imran Khan.
In the last interview, Mashal Yousafzai revealed the controversy surrounding Bushra Bibi’s decision to head to D-Chowk during the November 24 PTI protest.
The protest, which was clearly intended to be a “do-or-die” march for the PTI leadership like Salman Akram Raja and Sahibzada Hamid Raza resigning from their party posts in the aftermath of the failed sit in attempt.
Mashal claimed that Bushra Bibi had expressed a desire to speak directly with Imran to confirm his intentions regarding the protest strategy, further complicating the internal dynamics of the party.
Mashal confirmed her removal from the post and said that her dismissal was a direct consequence of her statements during the interview.
A letter from the CM Secretariat to the secretary of the KP government’s administration department, dated November 29, said: “CM KP has directed that Miss Mashal Yousafzai, special assistant to Chief Minister KP, may immediately be de-notified.”
