A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sharaqpur, Jaranwala, Nankana Sahib, Kharian, Jhelum, and Sarai Alamgir earlier today.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed that tremble were felt in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sharaqpur, Jaranwala and other areas of Punjab province.
The PDMA’s DG stated that machinery and emergency personnel were on alert to handle any aftershocks. The provincial control room and district emergency operation centre’s are operational 24/7.
The quake was felt across a wide area, shaking buildings and causing brief power outages in Lahore and other related regions.
The intensity of the earthquake, there have been no reports of casualties or damage to property from any part of the capital or its neighboring regions.
