Meezan Bank Addresses Customers Data Breach Concerns

For the past few hours, Meezan Bank customers have been reporting unauthorized debit card transactions made online. Following thousands of complaints, Meezan Bank has issued a statement.

The bank clarified that customers often enter their card details on unverified websites that do not require OTP authentication. These websites, which are not affiliated with Meezan Bank, can be easily compromised, leading to data breaches.

Customers have acknowledged losing significant amounts of money due to these unauthorized transactions, many of which occurred on social media platforms.

Meezan Bank further stated in a report that they received fewer than 10 complaints related to this issue last week, and almost all of these cases have been resolved with refunds.

Meezan Bank, a leading bank in Pakistan, was awarded the Best Bank of 2024. The bank is committed to providing its customers with safe and efficient banking services.

However, recent incidents involving unauthorized transactions highlight the need for increased focus on cybersecurity.
